Kathleen Martin | Operations Manager
As Operations Manager for Talis Advisors, Kathleen Martin enjoys providing customer service and personal support to her clients. Kathleen manages relationships with custodians and other service providers. She also coordinates the delivery of wealth management services within the organization.
Kathleen has 20 years of experience in the banking industry. She most recently worked as a trust officer in the trust department of North Dallas Bank and Trust Co. She handled personal trust accounts, custody, escrow, IRA and qualified plan accounts. Prior to that role, Kathleen worked in North Dallas Bank and Trust Co.'s credit department.
Kathleen graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Speech and English. After teaching language arts for four years in Dallas schools, she went on to obtain her Masters of Education degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas. Kathleen currently resides in Plano.

What do you do when you’re not working? Socialize with friends and family. I also like to go to movies and special events in the DFW area. I watch television, play Words with Friends and Trivia Crack on my cell phone, and travel whenever I can.
What was the most challenging thing you’ve done? Rehabilitation after double knee replacement in 2004
Who is your inspiration? Disabled U.S. Veterans
Where would you like to visit? Salzburg, Austria
What is the most interesting place you’ve visited? London and surrounding area
Who is the most interesting person you’ve met? Robert Ballard, who led the expedition that first discovered the Titanic wreck in 1985. He gave a speech at the Dallas Country Club about his experience, and we got to visit with him afterward.
Do you have any interesting relatives? Not of my bloodline, but my ex-husband’s grandfather was John Calloway Walton who was the 5th Governor of Oklahoma (1-9-23 to 11-19-23). He served the shortest term of any Oklahoma Governor. He was impeached.
Which causes do you support? Prevention of animal cruelty and abuse
Which sports teams do you follow? SMU Mustangs, Texas Rangers
What is your favorite quote? “It’s a helluva start, being able to recognize what makes you happy."
How did you end up working in finance? I was faced with having to get a job after my divorce in 1998 and didn’t want to go back to teaching. A good friend suggested that I apply at her bank, and I worked there 20 years. I then retired as a Trust Officer. Because of my experience as a trust officer, I was offered the job of Operations Manager at Talis.
What do you love about what you do? The people I work with, the challenge of learning new skills, and the much shorter drive to the office!
