Bob Lamse, President of Talis Advisory Services, LLC, holds a BBA in Accounting and a Masters of Taxation degree from Baylor University. Prior to joining Talis, he gained tremendous experience as a Tax Manager/CPA/CFP® for Ernst & Young in Dallas, TX. He went on to own and operate a successful franchise from the ground up, which gave him valuable insight into running a small business. He then became the Chief Financial Officer for two very successful and rapidly growing companies, Highgate Holdings and Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing. With over 15 years of experience as a CFO, Bob oversaw large investment portfolios for his companies and worked with the majority of what are considered the top Wall Street brokerage firms. While many of those firms have areas of expertise, he saw the built-in conflict of interest from the typical commission-driven brokerage industry and became a huge proponent of the fee-only Registered Investment Advisor approach.
Bob’s diverse financial background makes him extremely well suited to assist individuals and organizations with tailoring all types of unique investment plans that will meet their specific needs and goals. He is very excited to help lead and be part of a team like the one at Talis that has such a great depth of talent and integrity. Bob is very proud of his wife of 25 years and 3 children. They have been very active members of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, TX, throughout their marriage. Bob also serves as a member of the Texas Health Presbyterian Board of Trustees.

Max Hulse - Advisor Emeritus
Our friend and colleague, Max Hulse, died in a plane crash on Friday, May 20, 2011. He was 79 years old. Max will be missed by his many friends, his family, and his coworkers.
Max Hulse began his career as a stockbroker and investment counselor in 1962. During his career with Eppler, Guerin, & Turner, he rose through the ranks eventually becoming a principal in the firm, Executive Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors. Max was responsible for opening and staffing all of the firm's branch offices in West Texas. After many years and many acquisitions, Max eventually retired from UBS. After a few years of retirement, he discovered that golf and fishing did not present a satisfying challenge, so he became affiliated with Talis Advisors. He continiued to play an occasional round of golf, sometimes with rather notable people (see photo).
Max was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying his Beechcraft Bonanza. He also enjoyed fly fishing and golf. He was an avid painter and maintained studios in San Angelo, Texas and Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, his six children and seventeen grandchildren. We were all fortunate to benefit from his many years of experience.
